LAX NORTH COMPLEX OUTBOARD RUNWAY 24R/6L TEMPORARILY CLOSED

(Los Angeles, California – June 26, 2015) Starting Monday, June 29, 2015, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will close outboard runway 24R/6L on the north runway complex for 113 days, from June 29th to October 19th.

Runway Safety Area improvements have been mandated by Congress for all U.S airports. The improvements will provide an extra margin of safety for landing and departing aircraft.

 Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) officials are reminding motorists that replacement of a natural gas pipeline by the Southern California Gas Company will temporarily close eastbound Century Boulevard for one-half mile between Airport and Aviation boulevards beginning TONIGHT, Friday, June 19 at 11 p.m. through Sunday, June 21 at 6 a.m.  During this 36-hour period, all southbound lanes of Aviation Boulevard from the intersection with eastbound Century Boulevard also will be closed.

LOS ANGELES BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS APPROVES AGREEMENT TO EXPAND USE OF RECYCLED WATER AT LAX FOR LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION
(Los Angeles, California – June 18, 2015) – The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today approved an agreement with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) for design and construction of apipeline carrying recycled water at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at a cost of $690,000.

BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS AWARDS CONTRACT TO BOINGO WIRELESS FOR FREE, FASTER WI-FI SERVICE FOR AIRPORT GUESTS
The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today awarded a seven-year, $5.9-million concession agreement to Boingo Wireless, Inc., to upgrade, manage, operate and market the Wi-Fi network at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).  Airport guests will continue to receive 45 minutes of free advertising-supported Wi-Fi service, but at speeds more than four times faster than today, placing LAX among the top five airports in the U.S.

LAX FORECASTS 811,000 TRAVELERS DURING MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND; SUMMER TRAVEL SEASON TO BREAK RECORD WITH 24.6 MILLION PASSENGERS
Officials at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) estimate nearly 811,000 travelers are expected to pass through the airport this Memorial Day weekend – an increase of 6.7 percent over the 759,776 passengers of the 2014 holiday period. Airport officials also forecast 24.6 million passengers this summer travel season, also an increase of 6.7 percent over last summer’s record 23,066,723 travelers.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY NEAR LAX: WEEKEND STREET RE-SURFACING NEAR LAX TO IMPACT TRAFFIC

(Los Angeles, California – May 15, 2015)  Officials at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) are advising motorists that street re-surfacing activity near the airport this weekend is expected to impact traffic.

On Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, the Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services will apply slurry seal to Westchester Parkway between Pershing Drive and Sepulveda Boulevard.
