LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS, LOS ANGELES ZOO ENTER LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP TO REDUCE COSTS, DIVERT WASTE, IMPROVE SUSTAINABILITY
(Los Angeles, California – February 12, 2014)  A long-term partnership that began in late September  between the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and the Los Angeles Zoo is already proving successful in many ways by:  reducing costs for both City departments; diverting "green waste" from landfills; protecting coastal dunes areas; contributing to sustainability goals; and feeding exotic animals one of their favorite foods reminiscent of their native homelands.

US AIRWAYS RELOCATES OPERATIONS FROM TERMINAL 1 TO TERMINAL 3 AT LAX EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 12, 2014
(Los Angeles, CA - February 11, 2014) Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 12, US Airways, a subsidiary of American Airlines Group, will operate out of Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Terminal 3. The airline will end operations at Terminal 1 tonight, Feb. 11 following late night arriving and departing flights.  The US Airways Club in Terminal 1 will also cease operations.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS (LAWA) HAS RECEIVED MEDIA INQUIRIES AS TO ITS CURRENT POSITION REGARDING A POTENTIAL TRANSFER OF LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ONT)
(Ontario, California – February 6, 2014)  The Board of Airport Commissioners (BOAC) adopted the “Guiding Concepts and Principles for Negotiations Related to Potential Divestiture of ONT” on December 17, 2012.  The document establishes criteria for LAWA to consider a potential transfer of ONT, including that any potential new owner must continue to operate ONT as a commercial airport, that measures will be taken to protect current employees of ONT and that any transfer will protect LAWA’s financial interests.

LAX POSTS RECORD INTERNATIONAL PASSENGER VOLUME FOR 2013; TOTAL PASSENGER VOLUME UP 4.7 PERCENT
 Airport officials today announced record international passenger volume at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for 2013.  Year-end statistics show LAX airlines served 17,852,110 international passengers in 2013, eclipsing the previous high of 17,486,263 in 2005.

LAWA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPOINTED TO BOARD OF FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF SAN FRANCISCO'S LOS ANGELES BRANCH

Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey has been appointed to the Los Angeles Branch Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.  The appointment, for the term ending December 31, 2015, became effective on January 1.

LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE CHIEF NAMED INTERIM DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey today named Airport Police Chief Patrick Gannon as interim Deputy Executive Director - Homeland Security and Law Enforcement, effective January 27, 2014.  A nationwide recruitment for the permanent deputy position was launched following the announcement by Arif Alikhan that he will be joining the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) as Special Assistant for Constitutional Policing.

LAX CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC ADVISORY – CENTER WAY
(Los Angeles, California – January 21, 2014)  Temporary lane restrictions on Center Way in the Central Terminal Area (CTA) of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will be in effect as part of a larger effort to permanently widen the eastbound-only roadway so vehicles can exit the CTA more easily in the future. Beginning at midnight, January 22, 2014, Phase 1 of the Center Way Widening Project will close one of the two lanes between East Way and Parking Structure 2A through April.  The USO parking lot located between Parking Structures 1 and 2 also will be closed.

CENTRAL TERMINAL AREA OF LAX TO GET MUCH NEEDED FACELIFT
(Los Angeles, California – January 13, 2014) During their meeting today, Los Angeles World Airports Board of Airport Commissioners awarded the $80 million contract for the construction of LAX’s a $118 million Central Terminal Area (CTA) Curbside Appeal Project to Myers & Sons Construction and J. Banicki Construction Inc., a joint venture.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS RESPONDS TO INACCURATE MEDIA REPORTS
Ontario, California - Several recent news reports claim airlines are either pulling out of Ontario International Airport (ONT) or will drastically slash offerings over the next three months.  The most important point to make is that NO AIRLINES ARE PULLING OUT OF THE AIRPORT!  In fact, it is just the opposite…flights and an airline were added in 2013.
