Operational Changes Coming to Flyaway Nonstop Bus Service's Van Nuys, Orange Line, and Westwood Services in New Year

HireLAX is Accepting Applications for the First Class of 2019

Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners Approves Modernization of Los Angeles Airport Police's Dispatch and Record-Keeping Systems
(Los Angeles, CA) Yesterday, the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners (BOAC) approved the purchase of new computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and records management system (RMS) infrastructure for use by Los Angeles World Airports' (LAWA) Los Angeles Airport Police Division (APD). In accordance with LAWA's strategic goal of innovating for security, efficiency and effectiveness, the new CAD and RMS system will modernize APD's dispatching and records retrieval systems, allowing the division to respond rapidly to situations with a reliable and quick connection to intelligence information and other first-responder agencies.

LAWA Receives Public Agency of the Year Award from Los Angeles Sustainability Coalition for Automated People Mover
(Los Angeles, CA) Yesterday, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) was honored by the Los Angeles Sustainability Coalition as "Public Agency of the Year" at its annual awards dinner. The award recognized the transformative potential of Los Angeles International Airport's (LAX) forthcoming Automated People Mover (APM), which is scheduled to open in 2023. The APM, when complete, will connect LAX to Los Angeles Metro's light rail network, allowing riders from throughout Los Angeles County to travel to and from LAX and further reduce the region's carbon footprint.

Ethiopian Airlines Launches First of Its Kind Nonstop Service Connecting LAX and Africa
(Los Angeles, CA) Today, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) announced that Ethiopian Airlines, the largest aviation group in Africa and a SKYTRAX certified Four Star Airline, will launch a new first-of-its-kind flight, connecting Los Angeles travelers to West Africa through Lomé-Tokoin Airport (LFW) in Togo. The inaugural flight is scheduled for December 17, 2018. With the launch of this new route, LAX will become one of only two airports in the world to serve six continents with nonstop flights, joining London-Heathrow in this distinction. LAX will be the only U.S. west coast gateway airport with nonstop service to Africa.

Three Top Airport CEO's Join AMAC's Board of Directors
